A Short Introduction to Philosophy
This 6 week course provides an introduction to three central problems of philosophy, examining original texts of three of the most influential philosophers of the Enlightenment: Descartes on 'Doubt', Locke on 'Identity' and Hume on 'Causality'. The course assumes no prior knowledge of philosophy.
One topic will be covered each fortnight, with a lecture on the topic the first week and a follow-up seminar on the lecture and the reading the second week. The live seminar will be moderated by the lecturer.
What you get
All lectures and seminars will take place on Tuesdays and run from 7pm to 8pm, apart from Isabella's seminar which will take place on Monday 8th April 7pm to 8pm (see course schedule for details).
Please note that in order to keep the forums productive and manageable there is a strict limit of 15 places on the course.
